World Water Day, 2016

We join the rest of the world in commemorating World Water Day today. Water is essential to life (food, health, hygiene, and hydration), jobs, and infrastructure like power. At Propcom Mai-karfi, we acknowledge the vital role which water plays in hygiene, and consequently the health and household incomes. As a result, we have partnered with private sector companies to promote the benefits of handwashing with soap in rural northern Nigeria, reaching over 70,000 beneficiaries with the soap and handwashing message. We are also looking at the possibility of supporting rural vegetable farmers with irrigation systems for improved productivity.

We hope for a future where all communities and individuals have access to clean water and are able to maximize all of its benefits. Happy World Water Day!!!
