Focus on women’s economic empowerment (WEE)

Propcom Mai-karfi’s focus on women’s economic empowerment (WEE) is not a stand-alone activity, but rather cuts across all our interventions. Our strategy focuses on addressing gender constraints in rural markets in northern Nigeria, so that women and adolescent girls advance economically and are empowered to make economic decisions. Our gender target is to reach 250,000 poor women by the end of the programme.

Propcom Mai-karfi is designing and implementing interventions to make markets work for poor rural women in northern Nigeria. These interventions are improving women and adolescent girls’ access to economic assets, skills, jobs, and services to advance economically.

Working with our technical teams and external partners, we aim to provide clear incentives and guidelines to help our partners reach large numbers of poor and disadvantaged women.
