Propcom Mai-karfi: 9 Years of Impact
Thursday, 21 October 2021
Due to COVID restrictions, this event is a hybrid with some people attending onsite while others attend online. Read on for more information about the event and click below to RSVP.
After 9 years promoting pro-poor opportunities and inclusive market growth in Northern Nigeria, the Propcom Mai-karfi programme funded by UK aid from the UK Government is closing.
Propcom Mai-karfi used the market system development approach to address key factors constraining development in rural markets with the primary objective of helping poor people in Northern Nigeria earn and improve their livelihoods. We are honoured to have been given the opportunity to support over 1.25 million women and men in rural Northern Nigeria to generate incomes of over £2.5 million, and attract up to £85 million in private sector investment into the region.
During the closeout symposium, we will celebrate our achievements by sharing our experiences via presentations by key staff members and panel discussions featuring our partners and other key stakeholders. The symposium will be an opportunity for development and private sector players, donor organisations and government representatives to get first-hand information on our successful and scalable models for profit-making and development, and garner feedback on regulatory bottlenecks identified through our work.
Guests at the symposium will cut across donor organisations, private sector, local and international development sector and government, the media and Propcom staff who supported the successful implementation of the Programme.
Due to the Pandemic, attendance is restricted. Consequently, the event will be replicated online giving many more people within and outside Nigeria the opportunity to participate. Click below to choose your preferred mode of attendance.
