Propcom Mai-karfi’s Closing Event
Celebrating 9 Years of Impact
Thursday, 21 October 2021
This is a hybrid event, with some people attending onsite while others attend online. Read on for more information about the event and to RSVP.
After 9 years promoting pro-poor opportunities and inclusive market growth in Northern Nigeria, the Propcom Mai-karfi programme funded by UKaid from the UK Government is closing.
Propcom Mai-karfi used the market systems development approach to address key factors constraining development in rural markets with the primary objective of helping poor people in Northern Nigeria earn and improve their livelihoods. We are honoured to have been given the opportunity to support over 1.25 million women and men in rural Northern Nigeria to generate incomes of over £85 million, and attract more than £85 million in investment into the region.
At the event, we will celebrate our achievements and share how the UK government’s investment in agriculture has expanded market access and catalysed private sector investments into key subsectors to create economic opportunities for smallholder farmers in Northern Nigeria. There will be presentations by key staff members and panel discussions featuring our partners and other key stakeholders. It will be an opportunity for development and private sector players, donor organisations and government representatives, and the media present at the event to get first-hand information on our successful and scalable models for profit-making and development, and garner feedback on regulatory bottlenecks identified through our work, among other information.
As attendance is limited due to COVID-19, the event will thus be replicated online giving many more people within and outside Nigeria the opportunity to participate. Click below to register and choose your preferred mode of attendance.
